JIRATCHAYA PRIPWAI
Jiratchaya Pripwai was born in 1983. She lives and works in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Since her graduation from Chiang Mai University with a Bachelors in Painting, and later a Masters in Painting from Silpakorn University in 2011, she has dedicated her time to being a full-time artist. As an abstract artist, her artwork mainly focuses on her state of mind, catharsis. She often utilizes art as a form of personal soul therapy. Her artwork is her own ever-evolving personal diary, constantly maturing and changing with time.
Jiratchaya finds the moment when the hands, eyes and consciousness merged through repetition as the moment that the process led her to a peaceful and balanced state of mind. After more than ten years of using drawing as her main process, she is expanding into painting. In the universality and timelessness of abstract art, she belives there are always new spaces waiting to be discovered.
